Goods and Service Tax (GST) was introduced with effect from July 01, 2017 by integrating all erstwhile indirect taxes like Service Tax, Excise duty, Customs duty, Central and State sales Tax. It was introduced with a slogan “One Nation One Tax”  and GST Act introduced with Applicable GST Rules for every state of the Country.

Supplier of any goods or services any where in India is required to apply for GST Registration if their turnover exceeds the threshold limits prescribed by the GST Act. The threshold limit is Rs.20 Lakhs for services providers  and Rs. 40 Lakhs for Any supplier of goods. Irrespective of turnover, some dealers like exporters or importers need to get registered with GST for carrying on their business.
